Lesson, learned: on days that are this hot I should leave earlier in the morning. It was toooooo hot to run, at least for me, and I figure since I was the only fool in the park, I’m probably not wrong. I was moving slower than on Saturday and a million things were going wrong with me. Bad choice of shirt so my key laynard wouldn’t stay in it, my shorts kept riding up causing my thighs to chafe, and the heat made it difficult to breath. Matt says I need to ignore the little things, but I don’t know how to do that when there is nothing to distract me from them.
It also doesn’t help that I didn’t want to run in the first place (the thought of running made me want to cry), but guilt got the better of me since I haven’t run since Saturday. My schedule is supposed to be Monday/Tuesday, Friday/Saturday and here I am starting in the middle of the week. In fact, I’ve been all around off of all my workouts this week. But I did almost hit the 2 mile mark in the park that I’ve been trying to reach. One full loop, that’s all I ask. Unfortunately, I started to hyperventilate which caused me to lose form which made me feel like I was going fall over at that point. And that wouldn’t have been fun or pretty. Here’s to hoping I do better Friday when the temp is to drop back down to the 70s.
